It seemed that even the sun itself was warmed by the inaugural Miracles in Motion Home Run race, held on Saturday, February 22, 2014. It was a beautiful day for the 5K run and fitness walk that meandered through the trails of Olsen Park, as well as a fully-accessible 1K. Participants ran, walked or rolled their way through the course and over the finish line to cheers from the many onlookers that gathered to support them. All proceeds will benefit and support the programs of ACCESS of Wilmington and The Miracle League. The Miracle Field at Olsen Park is an amazing addition to the Wilmington community that allows for children of all abilities to play safely with one another, with users ranging from children in special education classes to nursing home residents, and veterans programs participants including Wounded Warriors and Special Olympic athletes.
